Stroke Quality Measures
The American
Stroke Association recommends systems of care
that ensure organized and effective stroke prevention and care within a given
region. This approach requires collaboration among community members, emergency
medical response teams, and hospitals within relatively close geographic range.
Written protocols for stroke treatment and MRI or CT scan availability are
helpful tools for improving stroke care.
Using current treatment guidelines
every hospital can provide excellent stroke care by working together so that
stroke survivors get the care they need as quickly as possible.
St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center offers the following services for the treatment of stroke survivors:
- Acute stroke team
